For Mustang and P-47 fans  here is a sheet just for you, American Forces in Germany just after the war had some very colourfull markings on their aircraft and this sheet depicts a selection of them wit Red noses and rudders as well as yellow noses and rudders plus some stripes. All the aircraft are Natural metal and the mustangs come from various sqds in the  355th FG while the jugs are from the 86th FBW.
In 1/48th scale the kits reccomended are the Tamiya P-51D and notes are provided for the types of canopy on each aircraft, either Dallas or North American, while Tamiya or Hasegawa  are suitable for the P-47.
In 72nd scale the kits are Tamiya for the P-51D and Academy for the P-47
